Professional Barista Lessons

$500.00
Limit 1 per order

These are private sessions with only your group of up to 4 people.

All classes start out with 3 separate triangulations of coffee. We talk about the the coffees in a qualitative grading format. This part of the class is akin to a massage therapist’s intake form - we can better understand how to most effectively engage with you, and tailor our approach, based on your responses.

We’ll spend 3 hours in a formal cafe setting, open only to us, focusing on what you’re most interested in; dialing-in espresso, latte art & milk science, pourovers & ratios/time, refractometry and extraction percentage, or a little bit of everything. Every attendee will receive, and have their choice of, a 250g bag of very special coffees (whole bean or ground) and a small coffee notebook to record your favorite cups that also outlines industry-standard terms of tasting and brewing coffee, as well as the steps to professionally grade a coffee.

Classes will be led by a 30-year specialty coffee industry veteran, test barista for the VST refractometer, test barista for Luminaire’s LB-1 which pioneered the foundational software for current La Marzocco Stradas and X series machines, who had design input on the Slayer Steam, one of the first certified Level 2 Baristas with the BGA (in the world), and former Barista competitor, Sensory & Technical judge, and Lead Instructor with the SCA.

20% of all proceeds will be donated to the Rammun Foundation which provides aid and relief to families in Gaza.
